Celebrating Melissa English

Join her family and Blue Water Baltimore in celebrating 50 years of Melissa English by helping to plant new 50 trees.

You can use the form below to make a gift of any amount in her honor– simply select “In Honor of” and enter “Melissa English”.

Urban trees do so much more than provide shade. Each tree we plant provides centuries of future benefits to the city.  Research shows that increasing our urban tree canopy reduces crime, improves respiratory and mental health, and increases property values. Crucially, trees also improve water quality and reduce flooding throughout our region as our climate changes.

The trees you will help plant will provide needed shade and greenery in the Oliver neighborhood of east-central Baltimore City, while also providing “downstream” benefits to all living in the Chesapeake Bay region. Blue Water Baltimore will work with volunteers to plant and maintain the trees for at least two years while they establish themselves.
