TreeKeepers 301: Winter Tree ID
Want to learn winter tree ID? Now’s your chance! Join Blue Water Baltimore as we kick off our winter tree ID series with an afternoon workshop in Druid Hill Park. This is a TreeKeepers class, but is open to anybody willing to spend the afternoon learning!
We will spend the first hour inside, teaching you how to identify winter tree features such as leaf buds and bundle scars, as well as how to use a dichotomous key to identify native plants. After that, we will head out to examine some of Druid Hill Park’s many beautiful trees! Please dress warmly and bring water and comfortable shoes.
If you have a tree ID book or a hand lens, feel free to bring it. Limited materials will be provided.
We will begin inside at the Baltimore City Forestry Division Building located inside the ‘Yard’ off of Shop Road. Please see the map for an exact location. Parking beside the Druid Hill Community Garden.
