Village of 12 Trees Tree Planting

Sharing is caring!

 Volunteers Wanted

Get your hands dirty for clean water and a greener Village of 12 Trees Neighborhood! Join Blue Water Baltimore and Village of 12 Trees neighbors for a volunteer tree planting on their Home Owner Association property! Help us kickoff the start to a project that will plant over 250 trees in the neighborhood by Fall of 2019. On Saturday, we will plant over 100 trees to kickoff this project.

We’ll meet at the pool for training and then break up into small teams to plant the adjacent blocks. Volunteers will learn how to plant 7-10 gal container trees in pre-dug holes. We will also install deer fence around the trees and lots of stake pounding.  This will involve walking to close-by locations. First timers, student groups and families welcome. And please let us know if you are a Baltimore TreeKeeper!

Our tree planting projects are rain or shine, so be sure to dress appropriately for the weather. Wear clothes and sturdy (closed-toe) shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty or wet. There will be snacks and a light lunch afterwards. Please bring a water bottle to reduce plastic waste. We will provide the trees, gloves, tools, training, and lots of fun!

Project partners include Baltimore Gas and Electric, Twelve Trees Association, Inc. Funding provided by Baltimore County Environmental Protection and Sustainability and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.
