Fruit Tree Fair

Whether your goal is to attend a workshop on companion planting, buy some plants from Herring Run Nursery, take home a free fruit tree, or  simply to celebrate urban greening, you belong at the Fruit Tree Fair! This year’s family friendly atmosphere features a kid’s nature play space as the center piece. Local emcee Alanah Nichole, from More Than an Open Mic, elevates the energy at this event with various artists of all ages performing spoken word poetry and live music. This is an ongoing feature of the program as guests are invited to peruse the vendor tents to learn about honeybees and native pollinators, plants for the orchard, various environmental and community non-profit groups, and food & drink options.

This year we will offer four species: fig, elderberry, serviceberry and pawpaw. Come early before some species run out! This event is organized by TreeBaltimore and partners: Civic Works – The Baltimore Orchard Project, More than an Open Mic, Blue Water Baltimore, Department of Public Works, and The Parks and People Foundation.
