North Avenue Press Conference

Join community leaders, and funders, and us at a press conference to celebrate the new green infrastructure in the West North Avenue community which includes the installation of 225 trees during Phase I.

The total project will include 450 new street trees and removal of 0.75 acre of concrete along West North Avenue and in surrounding neighborhoods. With funding from Maryland Department of Natural Resources and Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays Trust Fund, Baltimore City, and the Chesapeake Bay Trust, Blue Water Baltimore is working in neighborhoods with low tree canopy to plant more street trees in 2016 than ever before.

The planted trees to date have already had measureable impacts on the community, including slowing and absorbing stormwater runoff, filtering out pollution, and cooling the neighborhood homes, yards and streets.

Following the press conference attendees are invited on a street tree tour in the West North Avenue community to view the transformation to date.
