Herring Run Tree ID Hike

Sharing is caring!

This is a once-a-season opportunity that you won’t want to miss! Join Blue Water Baltimore for an afternoon of tree identification and hiking along the gorgeous 1.5 mile trails in Herring Run Park! Your tour will be guided by our Community Forestry Manager, Elizabeth Fortson and our self-styled Lorax Darin Crew who speaks for the trees. They will teach you tips and tricks to identify both young and mature trees in late summer along with unique stories about Blue Water Baltimore’s forestry history in Herring Run Park. If you joined us for our Tree ID Hike in February, this is a fantastic opportunity to see how the trees have grown and changed through the seasons! After the hike we will head down to Oliver Brewing Company and socialize over their locally produced craft beer! All participants will be offered a BOGO deal on Oliver Brewing’s core selection of beer.

Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable close-toed shoes. If you have a tree identification book or a hand lens, you are welcome to bring these along!
