Arbor Day Tree Planting at Cherry Hill Homes
Get your hands dirty for clean water on Arbor Day! Join Blue Water Baltimore and Cherry Hill residents for a volunteer tree planting in the Cherry Hill Homes public housing! We will be planting 75 trees and cleaning up illegally dumped trash in a park area next to a playground and pavilion. All of these trees will be getting deer fence to ensure robust growth and survival. This project is part of our Master plan to plant over 700 trees in total. So far we have planted 107 trees within the property. If you like flexing your shoulder muscles, we will be doing a lot of stake pounding. First timers, student groups and families welcome. And please let us know if you are a Baltimore TreeKeeper!
Our tree planting projects are rain or shine, so be sure to dress appropriately for the weather. Wear clothes and sturdy (closed-toe) shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty or wet. Please bring a water bottle. We will provide the trees, gloves, tools, and training!
After the planting, volunteers are invited to join the community for a pizza party afterwards! This project is supported by the Maryland Port Administration.
