Under Our Feet is a series of parade puppet making sessions at Black Cherry Puppet Theater that will culminate in a parade at the Sowebo Arts Festival on Sunday, May 29, 2022! The parade takes inspiration from the living systems that exist, out of sight, under layers of concrete in the city. Ancient rivers and creeks flow, diverted through sewers and culverts. A diversity of organisms thrive in layers of earth, doing their age-old work of building soil. Dirk Joseph, Valeska Populoh and Michael Lamason are the three artists leading the build and are supported with a small faculty grant from MICA. All work sessions will take place at Black Cherry Puppet Theater at 1115 Hollins Street in Baltimore!
