April 5 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Get your hands dirty for clean water and a greener Baltimore! Join Blue Water Baltimore staff as we plant street trees in the Johnston Square neighborhood. Volunteers new to planting trees and expert TreeKeepers alike are welcome to attend. Our tree planting projects are rain or shine, and we recommend closed-toed shoes and clothing that is appropriate for the weather and getting dirty. Hats, sunblock, and sunglasses are strongly encouraged. We ask volunteers to bring a reusable water bottle to reduce waste. We provide work gloves, hand tools, and snacks but feel free to bring your own if you prefer.
Pizza will be provided for lunch after the tree planting. Residents of Johnston Square are eligible for $30 incentives for completion of this volunteer event.
Note: Please complete the registration form for each attendee, including those under 18. All attendees are required to complete a waiver, and all attendees under 18 must have a paper waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Instructions for completing the waivers will be emailed to you after registering. Please be sure to review the email before the event. Our tree plantings are best suited for youths in middle school or above.
This event is the ‘Upstream’ half of Blue Water Baltimore’s ‘Upstream/Downstream’ event series in collaboration with Waterfront Partnership. For more information on the ‘Downstream’ tree planting event on April 12th, please click here!
