Blue Water Baltimore’s native plant nursery – Herring Run Nursery, relies on a dedicated team of volunteers to grow. If you’re interested in helping us out for the 2023 season, please register for this training. We will cover the nursery layout, our gardening philosophies, practice on the Point of Sale, and label/move plants.
Volunteer tasks include:
Workday Wednesdays 9-12
- Unload and label plant material
- Organize and maintain the nursery under the direction of staff
- Weeding and watering
Retail Plant Sales:
March: Thursday & Friday 9-12 or 12-3
April & May: Thursday, Friday & Saturday 9-12:30 or 12:30-3; Sunday 10-2
- Ringing customers out on our Square POS System (no gardening experience necessary)
- Welcoming and assisting customers
- Driving customer orders to the parking area in the Toro
