Gwynns Falls Outfall Screening Blitz

Learn about water quality testing with the scientists of Blue Water Baltimore! An Outfall Screening Blitz consists of taking teams of volunteers into our local streams to sample water quality. The events can only take place 48 hours after a major rain event has ended to ensure stormwater is not being sampled. Samples will be collected from streams being monitored where dry weather flow is coming from a stormwater outfall. Unfortunately, due to the amount of rainfall we’ve experienced within the 48 hour window, this outfall screening blitz has been rained out. This event will transition into a walk & talk rather than a sampling event. We will discuss different types of pollution, how it is entering our waterways, and steps you can take to help report and prevent pollution from happening. We hope you can join us!
