Interested in becoming an advocate for Baltimore’s trees? Attend a Baltimore City Forestry Board meeting!
- Forest Conservancy District Boards, referred to as Forestry Boards, function in all 23 Maryland counties and Baltimore City. The boards were established in 1943 by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR). The Forestry Board in Baltimore City held its first meeting in June 1987.
- The Baltimore City Forestry Board is composed of individuals who serve voluntarily to promote and nurture the expansion of the urban canopy so as to improve the health and well-being of Baltimore’s residents. We meet monthly to organize a variety of greening events including: two free tree giveaways, an Arbor Day tree planting with a local Baltimore City Public School, and fundraising projects to pay for the tuition for two Baltimore City High School students to the week-long Natural Resources Career Camp in Garrett County.
- Anyone can attend our meetings to speak for the trees and learn more about what’s going on with our canopy in Baltimore!
