Blue Water Baltimore Needs a New Boat

Recently, Blue Water Baltimore (BWB) announced an agreement with the Maryland Department of the Environment and Baltimore to address pollution violations at our state’s two largest Wastewater Treatment Plants. This lawsuit was founded on data collected by our Baltimore Harbor Waterkeeper, Alice Volpitta and her team at monitoring sites in the Harbor only accessible by our Baltimore Harbor Waterkeeper boat—a vessel we now need to replace.

This Giving Tuesday we are asking you to help us raise $20,000 to put towards the purchase of a new boat. And we want you to come along as we look for the perfect one!

Join Barbara Johnson, Outreach and Advocacy Senior Manager, and Sarah Holter, Water Quality Program Senior Coordinator, as they travel around Baltimore. We will be sharing videos of their search throughout the day! Follow along on social media.

Your donation today, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to securing a new vessel that is vital to our water quality monitoring initiatives. Together, we can ensure a sustainable and vibrant future for our share watersheds.

With thanks,

Sydnee Wilson Ruff
Interim Executive Director

P.S. Our generous current and former board members will match every donation up to $6,000! Double your impact by donating now!
