• Native Native Plants in the Modern Landscape
Tuesday, February 25th: 6pm to 8pm $10 per person
Vincent Vizachero, manager of Herring Run Nursery, provides all the essential advice you need to successfully use native plants in urban landscapes, for beauty and environmental health.
The discussion will include an overview on the benefits of using native plants, tips on selecting the right native plants for your site, guidance on using native plant communities as the basis of your designs, and principles of installation and maintenance to ensure your garden thrives and prospers.
• Designing with Native Plants Economically and Successfully
Thursday, March 13th, 2014: 6pm to 8pm. $10 per person
Vincent Vizachero, manager of Herring Run Nursery, provides cutting edge techniques for reducing maintenance, lowering plant costs, and creating more effective wildlife habitat using native plants
This session is perfect for homeowners as a well as community activists, school teachers, and parents trying to design a garden with ecological value with a limited amount of money.
• Monarch Butterflies & More: Native Plants in Pollinator Gardens
Thursday, April 10th, 2014: 6pm to 8pm $10 per person

• Selecting Native Trees
Wednesday, May 14th, 2014: 6pm to 8pm $10 per person
Darin Crew, Senior Program Manager, Nursery, Forestry & Green Jobs, will discuss the benefits of native trees, provide tips for choosing the best trees for your site or project, and offer sound advice on planting and maintenance.
